I am
a web site designer and builder (I am a retired computer scientist: visit my IBM web
site). I
have built sites for people in the arts: actors, musicians, authors, an
artist, and a film production company. I’m an actor and so I particularly
know what's important for an actor's or entertainer’s website: casting
directors, agents, clients want to see and hear YOU and YOUR WORK. They're
not interested in hokey graphics and cutesy animations (many of which don't
even display in phone browsers). And
they want to be able to easily navigate to what they want to see.
Having
your own web site, including your video and/or audio demo reels, allows
people to get a much better picture of you and your work than a headshot and
resume could ever convey. Here is a
list of typical pages you can choose to have on your
site, but you are not limited to these. Of course, we can make variations to this structure. For example, you might wish to have a single "Media" page containing videos and voiceovers, or you may want contacts listed only on your resume.
* limited only by
the amount of disk space in your hosting plan ‡ If you have a long video (e.g., an
entire ½ hour or hour TV episode) in which you appear for seconds or
minutes, you’ll want to have that video edited to show just your
appearances. (If you want, I can do that for an additional fee.) |
